Harvard Glee Club Alumni Chorus
in concert with the
Kyoto University Men’s Glee Club “Old Boys”
Friday evening, May 6
Calvary Presbyterian Church
You are invited to join the Harvard Glee Club Alumni Chorus to prepare for the next joint concert with the Kyoto University Men’s Glee Club “Old Boys.”
Following the model of the very successful Honolulu collaboration in 2011, this performance, free to the public, will take place at historic Calvary Presbyterian Church, San Francisco, Friday evening, May 6, 2016.
Michael McGaghie ’01 will conduct HGC AC. An HGC alumnus, Michael served as HGC Assistant Conductor under both Jim Marvin and Andy Clark while getting his DMA in choral conducting from Boston University. He is now Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Macalester College, St. Paul, MN.
Repertoire is being chosen by the conductors, and scores will be sent to HGC AC members by early 2016 to learn in advance of the first rehearsal. HGC will sing 20 minutes on its own, as will KGC OB. To conclude the performance, we will sing jointly under both conductors.
KGC/HGC singers and their guests will enjoy a special Welcome Brunch on Sunday, May 1 at the Hotel Kabuki and a post-concert Grand Dessert Reception Friday, May 6 at the Church.
Alumni Chorus dues of $375 per singer are assessed to cover the fixed costs of the trip, which include providing a conductor, music scores, lunches during Cambridge rehearsals, concert publicity, programs, and some group transfers and other fixed costs in San Francisco.

Sunday, March 6: 9am – 1pm (lunch on your own)
Saturday, April 9: 9am – 4pm (includes lunch)
